Our Story
Kristi and Robert purchased La Veranda in 2018. For a year they worked on updating, clearing and cleaning the exterior of the property. In the winter of 2019 they embarked on a major addition and renovation of the home. The project was temporarily halted by the Covid pandemic in the spring of 2020. By late summer construction was once again underway, and proved to be a welcome distraction from the topsy-turvy world around them.
Kristi and Robert’s background in construction, engineering, and design was put to the test during the renovation of the 140-year-old home. The task of integrating the home’s old world charm and structural detail with a contemporary aesthetic was intriguing, yet daunting. There were endless conversations about how the two very different architectural styles could live in harmony.
The end result is a home that combines classic Italianate beauty and modern contemporary elegance. The three-acre property consists of the main residence, a guest cottage, a renovated water tower, and a 2000-square-foot original barn. La Veranda is available for photo and video shoots, and special events. The user-friendly venue has parking for vehicles and trucks, and is set apart from neighbors to allow maximum privacy.
Kristi and Robert welcome sharing their property with old and new friends, and hope others will come to appreciate the special place that is La Veranda. Please contact us for additional details on rental terms and availability. We are happy to arrange a private tour.
